Brujos - Fantasmas 113-99 The game between closely ranked teams ended with fifth ranked Brujos' (6-3) home victory over 6th ranked Fantasmas (4-5) in Izalco 113-99 on Saturday. Brujos dominated down low during the game scoring 92 of its points in the paint compared to Fantasmas' 62. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 36 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Fantasmas' players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Brujos made 15 blocks. American players dominated also this game. Forward Harrison Rieger (196-98) notched a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds to lead the effort and point guard Jeremee Davis (191-90, college: Georgia Coll.) supported him with 26 points, 9 rebounds and 14 assists. Davis is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Brujos players scored in double figures. Brujos' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 40 points (!!!) and 5 assists by guard Sameen Swint (193, college: GBC) did not help to save the game for Fantasmas. Nick Moore (198-91, college: Nyack) added 24 points, 21 rebounds and 4 blocks for lost side. Brujos maintains fifth position with 6-3 record. Fantasmas lost third consecutive game. Hosts were defeated by fifth ranked Brujos (6-3) 76-72. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Aguila. Brujos shot 22 for 31 from the free-throw line, while Aguila only scored two points from the stripe. 25 personal fouls committed by Aguila helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Harrison Rieger (196-98) who helped to win the game recording 29 points and 7 rebounds. Guyanese-American center Anthony Moe (206-90, college: Millersville) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 18 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Martin Ramos (171-92) replied with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists and Ecuadorian power forward Carlos Delgado (202-90) added 13 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Aguila. Four Aguila players scored in double figures. Brujos maintains fifth position with 6-3 record. Aguila at the other side still keeps top place with one game lost. They share the position with San Salvador. Brujos will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Aguila will play at home against Fantasmas and is hoping to win this game.
